HI-TEA WITH LOCAL AUTHORS AUGUST 2007

In conjunction with Malaysia's 50th anniversary; and in appreciation of our local authors, MPH Bookstores will once again be organizing the “Support Malaysian Writers Campaign” by dedicating the whole month of August to highlight the works of Malaysian writers. The purpose of this campaign is to create more awareness and to give recognition of the works of Malaysian Authors.

For the fifth consecutive year, MPH will be hosting the “Hi-Tea with Local Authors" at MPH Megastore 1Utama. It is the nation’s largest gathering of local authors under one roof, where
authors get to mingle, chit-chat as well as share their experiences with each other. It is also a platform for aspiring writers to network and get some tips from the authors.

We are pleased to invite you to the 'Hi-Tea with Local Authors'. Below are the details of the event:

TIME PROGRAMME
1.30pm – 2.00pm Arrival of guests and registration
2.00pm – 2.10pm Welcome address by emcee
2.10pm - 2.30pm Introduction of local authors
2.30pm – 3.30pm Forum Discussion: The direction of the local book industry in the next 10 years based on current developments.
3.30pm – 3.40pm Presentation token of appreciation to panelists
3.40pm – 5.00pm Free and easy – mingle with authors (light refreshments will be served)
5.00pm End


The forum will discuss the direction of the local book industry in the next 10 years based on current developments. The panelists will also question if the direction is where we want to head, or if we should collectively shift the course of things to come.
